You’ll meet Mary, our consignment cahoona. For your convenience, she’s here throughout the week. While no appointment is necessary, it’s always best to call ahead to ensure she’s on hand.

 
Your items are put on sale for 90 days. You receive 40% of the selling price which you will receive at the end of your consignment period either as cash, cheque or store credit. Generally, we set prices and reduce them on articles that are unsold after 60 days. While you can request price restrictions in the case of items of particular or sentimental value, this may influence our decision to accept your pieces and our ability to sell them.
Never be offended if we do not accept some of your articles. We have to think of our shoppers too. We want them to have a wide selection of clean and high quality items to choose from. So Mary selects carefully not only for style and condition but for sizing, season, colour, what we already have in our store and what we feel our customers want.
Feel better donating to charity? Of course it’s good to think of those less fortunate. But beware. Many thrift shops are actually for-profit businesses that end up taking the lion’s share of their profits for themselves. If charity is your goal, consider donating the proceeds of your consignment to the charity of your choice. That way, you’ll know where your money is going and likely receive a tax receipt for your efforts.
